Blue Luster

You're No Good (For Me)
(John David Brake) from the album Blue Luster

This was the first song ever written by J.D. during the On the Brink years. At first, J.D. was on bass and did very few back up vocals back in 2004. Knowing that he could sing, J.D. began writing a song tailored made to his voice. Digging back to his high school days at Carmel, he came across a song he wrote about his very first love. Obviously, things didn't work out. Who wants to write about a good girl friend? Dennis DeYoung maybe? After bringing this to the band, J.D. would sing lead vocals for the first time. This song eventually opened the door for him to become the lead vocalist in both OTB and Blue Luster.

V1
HERE I AM AGAIN, ASKIN’ WHERE YOU’VE BEEN
HEARD IT TOO MANY TIMES BEFORE
NEVER THOUGHT I’D SEE THIS END, THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND
I JUST CAN’T TAKE THIS ANY MORE

I TRAPPED YOU WITH ANOTHER GUY, CAUGHT YOU IN ANOTHER LIE
HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?
SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO, COME ON GIRL I NEED TO KNOW
TRUE LOVE’S TRAGEDY

PRE CHORUS
YOU KEEP SPREADIN’ YOUR LIES, AND I KEEP DRYIN' MY EYES

CHORUS
YOU'RE NO GOOD FOR ME, BUT I’M SO GOOD FOR YOU
AND I WISH THAT YOU COULD SEE, ALL THE PAIN YOU’VE PUT ME THROUGH

V2
HERE I AM ONCE MORE, WAITIN’ OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR
WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF
I’M WONDERIN’ WHO YOUR WITH, I’M THINKING THIS IS IT
IT’S TIME TO PUT YOU ON THE SHELF

BUT YOU SAY YOU WANT ANOTHER TRY, WHEN ALL YOU EVER DO IS LIE
HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?
SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO, COME ON GIRL I NEED TO KNOW
I JUST WANNA BE FREE

    • Actually Frank Frazetta has paintings on at least two Molly Hatchet albums. Also on the first Wolfmother album.
