This is a catchy hook and a great chorus with some of the sadest lyrics ever. It's basically like being on a sinking ship and knowing that it's sinking. There is no way you are able to salvage anything. Now the only thing left to do is find a life boat or a preserver and hope to hell you can make it to shore. The question asked within for me at the time was this..."Why do things go so bad when we are together and why do I feel like we can make it when we are apart." Musically, my favorite intro ever. I love the delay and the minor 7th's. I wrote it again on my telecaster in the fall of 06' and just beefed it up. JD says it sounds like "Heavens on Fire" by KISS, but I think he's crazy." -Patrick E. O'Connor
