Another classic written by James and J.D. This song is loosely based on John W. Campbell Jr.'s "Who Goes There?" which was turned into the 1982 sci-fi classic "The Thing" directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell. This movie happens to be one of James and J.D.'s favorite movies of all time.
The two wrote the song in the late winter of '08 right around the release of the debut album. JD came to James with a real heavy, driving guitar riff and asked James to spit out some lyrics. Just like the old college days when the duo wrote fan favorite "Take It Hot!!!" What came next was a metal masterpiece. The band is currently in talks with recording this as a single. More news to come.
V1
Stranded at the bottom of the world,
Trapped inside this frozen cell.
One of us became infected, but who can tell?
It came so quick,
This infernal disease,
It must be found, before we freeze
Dogs were first to feel its wrath,
Who’s next in its unknown path,
Shields itself with death and lies,
Such a deadly disguise…….
Chorus
Not quite Human (One of Us!) x 2
There’s no one to trust
The killer is one of us
V2
If we can’t stop it, it won’t be long
How do we stop this? What if we’re wrong?
I think its you, I know its not me.
Have to burn the blood, So we can see.
Only certainty is fear,
Its Hell outside but its worse in here
Won’t make it home alive,
Can’t let it survive……
