Blue Luster Gives Back And Builds Hopes And Homes For Family
Blue Luster Weekly news 3.1.2010
by David Carey, BL News writer

Drummer James Yarnelle and singer John David Brake recently traveled to Ensanada,Mexico to build homes for some needy families. Half of Blue Luster was more than happy to help join YWAM in the cause.  YWAM (Youth With A Mission) is a christian based organization located in San Diego,CA that interviews thousands of poor familes in the Western parts of Mexico to help build homes and spread love and hope to those who need it most. Yarnelle and Brake were given the opportunity to build a home for a widow with two kids who lived in a filthy shack full of disease. Traveling down unpaved roads cluttered with garbage, stray dogs, and hopelessness was an eye-opening expierence for the boys. With little building experience and a whole lot of heart, the group was finished in two days. With the help of YWAM and Defender Direct (the company that employes half of Blue Luster) the mother and her two young daughters were given a home that to them was an answered prayer.

The mother said she had a dream where God told her she would be given a home. In her dream the mother said the house would be blue. The building team did not know about this until after they painted her house, blue. "It was truly a humbling experience" said Brake. "I will never forget the look on the mom's face when we all circled the house and she got to come inside for the first time. We built a home that would be a tool shack for any other place in the world and to her it was a mansion."
