"The first riff I ever wrote....ummmm in case you forgot I'm a big Van Halen fan. I think this song is as close as I could get to a VH sound without being sued! Haha! Actually I wrote the intro for another song and then decided to use it for "Fear". Also the solo has slowly evolved over the years. What you hear on the album is a lot different than the original. Lyrically the song is about an addiction. An addiction to anything, such as a drug, a girl, a religion....whatever you want it to be. It's basically written from the viewpoint of the addiction. It's saying "Hey I'm all you have so come with me and lose yourself in me. I'll take care of you and all those people that don't take care of you will.... fade right out of sight." -Patrick E.
